Parliamentary Speech by Mark Dreyfus

On Tuesday, 11 August, the Hon Mark Dreyfus KC MP, Member for Isaacs, Victoria, delivered a moving three-minute constituency statement in the Federation Chamber of the Australian Parliament, titled “Lachlan’s Legacy.”

Mark spoke about Lachlan, his extraordinary bravery and the lasting legacy he has created through his actions and the work of the Lachlan McLaren Foundation.

For our family, having Lachie’s story recognised and spoken about in the Parliament of Australia was an incredibly emotional and deeply meaningful moment. To know that Lachlan’s life, his courage and the difference he continues to make are being acknowledged at such a national level means more to us than we can put into words.

We are incredibly grateful to Mark for taking the time to honour Lachie and help ensure that his story and legacy continue to be remembered.
